Shore Birds in the Everglades.
Shore Birds. Shore birds like the Oyster
catcher, terns and sandpipers are very common all along the Everglades
and SW Florida beaches. They can be seen darting in and out of the water on
their endless search for food. Although shore birds can be seen at any time
of the day the best times are dawn and sunset especially for shore bird
photography.
Wading Birds or Shore Birds.
There are many wading birds that are seen along the waters edge like the
little egrets but these are not shore birds by category and the shore birds
like the oyster catchers and terns are not wading birds although they can be
said to be wading as they look for food.

Photographing The Birds.
Photography Tips.
Photographing the shore birds is a great experience, best done at dawn or
sunset, during the golden hours. Lots of shore birds will be seen darting in
and out of the water at high speed so a fast shutter speed is needed. I like to use shutter priority of about 500th sec or higher, birds don't stay still for too long and catching them as they fly off is always
a treat.
Remember to boost your ISO up to 800/1600 if you can't get enough shutter
speed. Try lying down and getting the shot of the bird from very low angle.
