Birds in the Everglades Sunset.
Birds at Sunset.
The Florida Everglades is home to lots of beautiful and different species
of birds and the best time to photograph them is at sunset, if
you can't get up at dawn, which is my favorite time of the day.
Walking along the waters edge on the beach or stream will
produce some great opportunities for shooting the birds and the
sunset. But also check out your local park areas or woodlands.
Sunset Birds. Many of the Everglades
wading like the herons and egrets birds like to be out feeding at sundown
and shooting in this golden hour can produce some outstanding
shots of backlit feathers and puts a golden hue onto them that
is just awesome.

Photographing The Birds.
Photography Tips. Photographing
the swamp birds at sunset is second only to dawn and it is a great experience during the golden hours
there are some great opportunities for getting backlit feathers. Lots of swamp
birds will rest up during the day and only feed in the morning
and evening. Sunset is of course a great time to be out shooting
anything.
Lots of birds are sometimes easily scared off so a long zoom
lens is needed at least a 300mm
or longer. I like to use shutter priority of about 500th sec or
higher but you may need to use a tripod, birds don't stay still for too
long and catching them as they fly off into the sun is a special treat. Remember to boost
your ISO up to 800/1600 if you can't get enough shutter speed due
to low light levels.
