Flower Photos. Flowers and Plants are natures greatest creations. More than any other of the major plant groups, flowering plants are ecologically related to animals. Animals, including humans, and flowering plants are equally dependent upon each other. Most flowering plants rely on animals, insects and birds for reproduction. Insects carry pollen from the stamens to the carpel's, birds participate in Pollination of some flowering species.

Colorful Scented Flowers.
Animals are attracted to colorful and scented flowers, this ensures the dispersal of pollen and growth of the seeds. Many fruits and seeds are also collected and consumed by humans, and the seeds are planted in extensive programs of agriculture. Flowers come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Flowers add aromatic beauty to our gardens and parks. Flowers in full bloom are one of natures great natural beauties.

Photographing The Flowers.

Photography Tips. Photographing Flowers. Don't do it in the midday sun. Bright sunshine will destroy your ability to get good colorful flower shots by washing out the lighter colors like yellows and whites. In fact it will fade all pastel colors. Early morning and evening or on cloudy days are best times. What Lens to Use.

Macro Photography. They say flower photography is macro photography well maybe so maybe no, a macro lens will certainly help in getting real up close but just about any lens will do the job. I like my Tamron 70x300mm macro zoom for flower photography as it gets me up close if I want to be and also allows wider shooting. Shoot on non windy days.

Get Better Photos. Wait for a bee to land for more interest, try blurring out the background by using the smaller f-numbers like f2.8 to f5.6. Try and shoot into the shadow areas, I mean get a dark background and expose for the lighter flower, use Exposure Compensation of -1 and -2 for deeper colors and to help darken the background.
